About Hullara
Hullara is a Shopify theme for stores that have slowed down under a stack of apps. The jobs those apps usually do — colour swatches, quick view, a size chart, a sticky buy button, a free-shipping bar, and in the Pro edition bundles and quantity breaks — are built into the theme instead, and an update keeps the customisations you made. It is built in Hanoi, Vietnam, and sold from this site rather than the Shopify Theme Store.
Who makes it
Hullara is made by a small team. The theme itself — its Liquid, the compiler that emits one complete theme per niche, and the build that measures every page — is Nguyễn Lương Bằng's work, and his name is on the articles on this site because he wrote them and stands behind every claim in them. How those articles are drafted, tested and corrected is written down in how we test.
Why it exists
Most stores that feel slow are not slow because of their theme. They are slow because each feature they needed arrived as an app, and each app brought its own script (what your apps cost). Hullara's answer is to carry the common jobs in theme code: the Pro build loads 28.0 KB of CSS and JavaScript per page, gzipped, in two files, with no third-party scripts (how that is measured). How it is sold
There are two editions, Core and Pro, for two kinds of store — apparel, and stores built around a single product — and each can be bought outright or monthly (pricing). On sale since 12 August 2026.
Polar is the merchant of record. Polar takes the payment, issues the invoice and handles the tax, so the receipt you get comes from them; the licence comes from us (terms). Refunds are thirty days, no questions asked (refund policy).
Hullara is not affiliated with Shopify Inc., and nobody at Shopify has reviewed it — which is why the whole theme can be read before anyone pays (for agencies and freelancers).
What it will not do
- Invent urgency. A countdown ends on a real date the merchant sets, and there is nowhere to type a stock number or a star rating (why).
- Print a number nobody measured. Every figure about speed comes from the build, with its method and its date (the numbers), and a comparison with another theme says where that theme is the better choice (comparisons).
- Show customers it does not have. There are no logos or testimonials on this site, because nobody has yet agreed to be named.
